This script will calculate poker odds for Texas HoldEm based on your pocket cards and the board cards currently shown.  It can also simulate multiple random deals with or without test card overrides.  During these simulation runs it will collect statistics at each deal station.

The cards panel (top) is for the deal sequence and hand evaluations.  You can cycle through the deal stations using the pocket, flop, turn, and river buttons.  The deal multi button will deal one or more full hands based on the deal loop count.  See the project notes page for an explanation of the performance issues during long simulation runs.  The results of each hand at each station are collected as statistics.  The reset button will clear all current cards and clear all statistics gathered so far.  The table seats and player position are used during these simulation runs.  The hands are evaluated and the results are shown in the text boxes in this panel.

The statistics panel (middle) shows the current odds based on the deal station and the cards dealt so far.  Separate outs, needs, and probabilities are shown for each possible target hand.  For a full house the outs and needs are separate for the set and the pair.  Similarly the straight and straight flush show the inside and outside outs and needs.  Probabilities are shown as a percent.  The show odds check box will convert these to odds:1.  This is useful when comparing the results to other research sources.  The pocket, flop, turn, and river buttons will show the statistics for each station that have been gathered during any simulation runs.  The needs pocket selection list changes the odds calculations and hand evaluations as user selected.  Either requires at least one of the pocket cards in the target hand.  Top requires the highest pocket card in the target hand.  Both requires both pocket cards in the target hand.  The default is none.  The default odds shown before any hand is dealt are calculated simply on 5, 6, and 7 card hands.  Therefore, these target hand odds do not require either of the pocket cards.  If either, top, or both has been selected the default odds are based on one million hand simulations.

Note that the actual calculations are not always based strictly on the outs shown.  In some situations there may be multiple different opportunities to make the target hand that are difficult to show details for in the outs box.

In conjunction with the deal loop simulations, the street buttons at the bottom of the statistics panel will show the results at the various streets.  These reports can be handy to see how often certain pocket cards might flop a flush or a flush draw.

Use the card overrides panel (bottom) to setup test hands.  The pocket cards may be defined independent of the board cards.  You can define as few as one or as many as all seven cards, but they must be in the order shown.  The set button will set the test cards to the current hand being shown.  Unset any test card and those that follow it will also be ignored.

Tool tips are shown at the top of the page as the mouse hovers over the various menu controls.
